Hi, just wondering if anyone has any advice on using minnows at Scofield, or where to fish them and how. I have never used minnows before and would appreciate any help, thanks.

I always use fresh minnows fished on the bottom with about 18 inch leader. That gives the fish time to swallow before he feels the weight of the sinker. It works great for me there.Take a minnow trap and some balled up bread .Hope this helps you ggod luck!

you can fish with minnows in a variety of ways.. i like drifting them about 4 feet under a bubble or sometimes just a minnow and nothing more let it flote slowley down..most the time you will get a hit as the minnow sinks.. or if i'm fishing where i know the fish are deep i will put on a 1/2 oz egg about 18" to 24" up from the bait and cast it as fare as i can..
the hardest thing about fishing minnows is lurning how to hook them.. i hook minnow several difrent ways depending on the size of the minnows. what kind of fish i'm fishing for,and if the minnow are fresh or frozen.. there are ways of keeping them on the line even if they get mushey.. you will find that you will catch bigger fish on avrage with minnow then any other bait wether it's in a lake or river..they work great on either.. dude on fish?
