Disabled Anglers Invited to Catfish Roundup

[font "Arial"][black]RALEIGH, N.C. — Wheelin’ Sportsmen and the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission have scheduled a free Catfish Roundup for disabled anglers on July 24, from 8 a.m. until noon, at the Howell Woods Environmental Education Center in Johnston County. [/black][/font]

[font "Arial"][black]The fishing event is part of an initiative by the Wildlife Commission’s newly formed Disabled Sportsmen’s Committee to create more sporting activities for the disabled.[/black][/font]

[font "Arial"][black]“In addition to this fishing event, we’re also scheduling some dove hunts in September,” said Susie Fish, who chairs the Disabled Sportsmen's Committee. “We’re able to create special opportunities for disabled anglers and hunters because we’ve had so much help from landowners who have volunteered their properties and time to host these one-day events.” [/black][/font]

[font "Arial"][black]Anglers should bring their own rods and reels to the Catfish Roundup, but a limited number of free loaner rods and reels will be on site to borrow. Free lunch will be provided when fishing concludes at noon.[/black][/font]
