What are these like. I want to take my boy camping and was wondering about camping at Mill Hollow and fishing the west fork of the Deschene river. \
Have any of you ever fished it. What is the wading like? I want to find some place that is not to hard for him to wade in.

Troll,
I made it up to Mill Hollow on the 23rd. We got there at 0830 but by 1030 the place was nearly full. This reservoir is heavily fished but it is stocked equally as heavy. I think it was extra crowded on the 23rd beacuse of the holiday.
I have never been skunked at Mill Hollow. I fish it three to four times a summer. The fishing is generally pretty fast. The water is usually clear but it was cloudy this last weekend from pollen falling from the trees.
I pulled out 6 rainbows, 3 brooks, and 2 tiger trout and left for the nelle by 1230. They hit everything from jakes lures to power bait to flies on a bubble. the East side of the reservoir is shallow and one can wade in. Fair amount of underwater vegetation though.
Good luck.

Troll, I go to the Hollow regularly, its close to home and is always 10 degrees cooler than Heber is. Fishing is always good, this little pond is stocked and stocked frequently! Think small on hook size, the largest I have ever used here is a #4, but 6s and 8s do better. The fish here eat anything (planters) and its a great place to take kids. Weekends can get crowed espically on holidays or when there is a school field trip. I take a raft most times this frees us from the shore.
I wouldn't reccomend letting a little one wade the west fork at this time. Last trip it was running a bit fast, not too high but swift current and slippery footing (last week). Fishing was so so but I was out scouting so it was a bounus for me.
Where ever yyou decied to go good luck, small spinners are good at the Hollow but as I said everything works there. Remember to keep some of those fish though.
