I got the green light from the Mrs. and high tailed it down to our local sportinggoods store (Sportmans) and came home with a FishCat 4. Now, to go out and play around in it this weekend I hope . . .
Transportation finally became the deciding factor for the purchase. I'm actually moving from a 7' pontoon to the FC4. My journey has gone from the traditional round style, tried a Kennebec a few times, pontoon, and finally to the FC4. Now I get to review some past posts for setting up my rod racks and fishfinders . . .
Those of you that are FishCat kind of folk, do you do anything with that space between the bow and seat???

[#0000ff]Let me know if you need repeats of any of the pics on setting up rod racks, etc.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]About the space behind the seat: It is not a dry storage area. Water does slosh in and out, so if you want to keep something dry in there it needs to be in a waterproof wrapper or container. It works good for a small cooler. You can also seal up some extra tackle in a plastic container with a sealable lid. It's also a good place to keep a jacket or raincoat if weather conditions are subject to change. Again, just be sure that whatever you tuck back there is in a waterproof cover.[/#0000ff]

Congrats on the tube. I just got one and love it. I use the space behind the seat to put my tackle boxes and other stuff in a waterproof container.

Way to go on the FC4. They seem to be getting popular. Especially on this board. I bought mine last Thanksgiving season and love it to death.
You can use all the same dimensions for rod racks and stuff from the Super Fat Cat that TubeDude and others have on this board.
Just give a holler if you need any info. We'll be glad to assist you.[cool]

Thanks everyone! I took it out on Saturday morning to the "bubble up" on Utah Lake for a 'shakedown cruise.' It was wierd not to see these massive pontoons on either side of me. It will be much easier to land fish in the FC4. Unfortuneately I wasn't able to practice landing fish on Saturday.
The portability was everything I had hoped it to be. I inflated it within 2 minutes and didn't break a sweat (which is saying something). I portaged it a fair hike to the water and back without too much effort (I even had my fish finder in the pockets). When I got back to the car, it was in my trunk deflated within a few seconds.
It was very easy to maneuver. Now to test out it's fish towing capabilities . . .
