Just caught a bunch of perch and am wondering what the best way to preserve them so I can use them for bait for later. I have a bunch for lunch and the rest I would like to save, any suggestions,

Tube Dude has a great idea that I can't match. What I will say is, when we catch cisco in January we use them all year, right up until they run the following year. I bring the cisco home and rinse them off, then I simply vacuum pack them with three in each package. Once I have them all vacuum sealed I put them in a freezer bag and freeze them. When I want to use some for fishing, I take out a bag of three and keep them in a cooler until ready to use. Then I cut one of them into strips of 1/2 to 1 inch wide and 2 or 3 inches long and keep the rest in the cooler until the first one is almost gone. I cut the fish while they are still frozen because once the fish thaw there is more of a chance the fish will turn to mush when the knife goes threw the skin. WH2
