We’re in the typical summertime mode now-fairly calm winds with an easterly seabreeze kicking in after noon. August is statistically the calmest wind month for the Space Coast, so those tails should be very easy to see in early morning conditions. However, with calm conditions a careful approach is required…so get into that stealth mode!

Both the reds and trout are taking a variety of baits for the first two hours of the morning. Jerkbaits, live shrimp, and cut mullet are tops on the list. Late morning and afternoon in the Florida heat require anglers to slow their presentations down to a crawl. This is where sightcasting live bait will shine and turn a reluctant fish into an eater.

Also, since the water temps are on the rise PLEASE take the time to properly revive your fish. Summertime reds require more revival time due to depleted oxygen levels.

Contact Capt. Rob at 1-866-RED-DRUM
or 321-633-0923 or 321-544-5041 (cell).
