I backpacked in to Island Lake from the Crystal Lake trailhead this last Thursday through Saturday. Fished Big Elk Lake, Fire Lake, and Island Lake. Pretty slow fishing, but I nailed this big cut on a dragonfly larvae. It was darn close to 21" and tons of fun! It had beautiful coloring, that's why the picture of the head. Anyway, I don't know why the fishing was so slow, but one nice one like that makes up for the slow day. The other cut is an 18" that my dad caught.

Well, I didn't know that you were registered on this site Chad. Glad to see you got pictures of your fish. Did you happen to take any pictures of the brooks we (I mean you, your brother, and your dad) caught at Big Elk lake. I want to get a good look at the fish I never could quite catch. Did you get a picture of the 17" brook you caught at Island?

Sorry, I didn't get any pics of the brooks. I should have, but with our short time, I just didn't get out the camera.

Yeah, you were just to busy catching all those fish. No hard feelings though, I am glad we didn't all get skunked up there. Nice job today.

The cuts were from Fire Lake. The big one was the only fish I caught in about four hours at Fire Lake. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
