Fishing is good to really good.
No surprise there.
I started off at 1PM launching my newly acquired pontoon and I make my way to the West Side of the lake where the better fish seem to me hanging out. I decided to start off with a florescent yellow spinner because I know the fish here love bright colors. On the first cast I landed a 13 inch Rainbow, this one looked very healthy and had no clipped fins or deformations. Looked to me to be a natural but from what I have been told Silver is 100% stocked due to the huge ice over each year that freezes the lake damn near completely. Could this one have survived the winter in the creek and made its way back to the lake? Anyhow, after that I caught so many on this spinner I lost count an hour into the trip. I decided to switch to a fly on a 4-foot leader and a clear bobber. Noticed there were loads of gnats and mosquito’s so I put a mosquito on the end and the average was 1 fish per 10 casts. Well over 20 fish caught on this trip, all between 8-13 inches in length. There are some fat bows up there right now. What good fun!
