Question
#1
I'm going to take the mrs. fishing tomorrow the 6th. she is not an early riser and would like to know where to go and what to use.
My wife has not been in my boat yet and i would like to get her out to catch something.

Depending on where you live fishing might be tough.I know that e-lake you can catch them just about all day long. But as of launching a boat there fuzzy would have to tell you .When i had a boat i trolled strawberry especially in the afternoon.I would use lead core line and troll a chartreuse or red spinner with a worm and get the cutts biting either on top or in between 15-30 feet off the bottom.Hope this helps.

The best place that I've heard reports from lately are Mantua and Rockport. Read the Mantua post by Nkunz, it has so good info on what to use and the areas to fish. You could also do good at Rockport by trolling for trout or jigging for perch. Good luck no matter where you go. WH2

Yes Mantua is a great place to go fishing especially if you have a boat. The cold has slowed the fishing alittle but it is fast fishing there. Like it was said just go out and find the wholes around the weed beds and drop your lure down, the gills hit it before it gets to the bottom. The last time I was up there the water was so clear I could watch the lure go down and as soon as it dissappeared I would set the hook, always got a fish that away. The boat ramp there is still in good shape as of the weekend of Aug. 28th.
