Sorry Southernman, I think I was one who "poo-pooed" you. Since I live in Orem, I was selfish cause I can easily drive there and get my stuff. Trade shipping charges for sales tax that at least goes into our local gov. so they can pretend to use it to bring me services but really just squander it. But that's a whole nuther subject. I guess it does suck for those of you who live so far away.

the only reason i know about it is I do internet sales, and it happened to me already . . i like [url "http://www.rei.com"]www.rei.com[/url] and they opened a store in my state - 14 hr drive or something from me, and at that point i had to start paying tax on my orders, thats all . . . recently they opened up down here too, but one way or another they seem get their pound of flesh

I'm sorry to break more bad news to you, but for all you law abiding citizens you should be paying use taxes on catalog and internet sales. There is a space on your state income tax return to enter the amounts paid for items bought from locations outside Utah tax free.
