Well I went to East Canyon Saturday morning. Fished from about 7:30am till 10:30am. Trolled mostly pop gear, and dodger. Tipped with a worm. Had about 4 bites. Caught one fish. hahahahah, It was a smallmouth bass. About 11-12 inches long. First bass I have ever caught.
So yeah, another report of a bass caught up in East Canyon. Be a shame if the bass ruin the trout population. I really enjoy East Canyon for a trout fishing.

Thanks for the report, what area were you trolling? I like EC also but I don't like all the parasites on the trout, I hope the tiger trout take hole there. Usually the catching improves at EC in the fall, Oct and Nov have been good months for me but ever Dec can be hot. WH2

Down at the south end. I think it was in the area of the 'no wake' area. I'm shocked too that I caught it on pop gear of all things. I thought pop gear was more geared towards trout. I'm really shocked at how low EC is getting. Haven't been up there since April. But I was a bit surprised.

hahahah, we'll see about that. Honestly all I ever fish for is trout. I've tried my luck a few years ago up at Willard Bay for something different, but no luck. Fishing is fishing. And that's all I care about.
