Okuma reels
#1
Aloha! Just wondering if anyone has tried the Okuma Titus 50 wide reel? I'm thinking of getting a pair but I don't know how well they perform or if they are even worth the price. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I've seen 2 fail on 100#+ Bluefin Tuna. From what I've also heard, they don't stand up well at all. I've seen a couple reports on other boards where people seemed to think they were OK. On the other side, very few negatives are heard on the Shimano's and Penn(though they did have problems with the new pushbutton shift on the two speeds initially) JMO
Thor

Shinchan,
Welcome to the BFT boards. I have not herd any thing bad about the Titus 50, only good.
Here is a review statement from http://www.tackleup.com

"In a very short space of time Okuma reels have established themselves
as the no1 choice for quality, reliability, value for money and they all look
and handle superbly. There is absolutely no competition for these reels."
This is from England. I am interested on how american anglers rate this one also.[Smile]

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher <*(())))))))))>{
http://www.studentpcsonline.com
