My boy has been waiting all week to go fishing. With the duck opener tommorow, I knew today had to be the day.

Man oh man, the largemouth were on tonight.

I had one on every six minuets. They were really active.

I was surprised that even the little 4 inch buggers were feeling aggressive enough to reaction strike lures as big as they were.

So, we had a good time. Left the camera home due to all the duck hunting preparations that went on earlier.

This will be the first year the boy will go along on the hunt with me, and hes excited about that too. probably a bad thing since it will be 8 more years before he can shoot himself.
The fishing is good cause they can do that from the time they can turn a reel.

I remember those days of anticipation!!! My father got me a bb gun at that age and later a 22 to help me hone my shooting skills. By the time opening day on my 14th year came along I was a dead shot. I'll never forget that Browning 20 guage featherweight birthday present. Those birds and rabbits didn't stand a chance! Nothing like hunting and fishing to bond with your children, I envy you.
