just try to snug up a knot on 2,4,or 6# test line and ya' got streched out useless sections just above your hook . dang i hate that , cut it and start all over again . time wasted retieing that coulda got me that whopper that just swam by my feet .
spittle ain't slick enough , maybe more patience in the knot snugging is needed , or maybe a different knot to try altogether .
whatca guys got for knot sugestions on light monno lines ?

[cool][#005028]I prefer the double clinch knot. I too like to use # 2, 4 or 6wt lines. Most of my leader material is # 2 or 4.[/#005028]

Hey there lonehunter,
Ah yes..... To tie or knot to tie... that is the question. Whether Ops ...
I also vote with Dryrod. I like the double or what is sometimes refered to as the improved clinch knot. I keep confusing clinch with cinch but I use them both in a pinch.
The huge argument as to whether it's 5, 6 or even seven FULL turns will continue for ever! My read is that 6 is good for ALL lines with 5 for 'softer' lines and 7 being OK for 'stiffer' lines with a certain degree of surface grabbing characteristics.

Hi again Dryrod,
Have you noticed that if you allow the loop of the second pass through the eye to flip or become twisted (not laying exactly as the first loop) that the line will break off INSIDE the knot when really strained?! And it will break faster than if tied properly.

[#005028]Now that you mentioned it - yes! Needless to say I always wet my line before I draw the knot together.Any binding will abraid [is this a word] the mono and weaken the knot.[/#005028]
