you are in luck.
there are a number of clams that fold up to about 3-4 feet wide and from about a foot to 2 foot in hight from 4-8 feet in lenth.
what you will have to do is figure out what your pocketbook can handle. that will decide which modle you will want.

Also, the dome tent idea probably would be suicidal on ND lakes, LOL. We get mucho mucho wind here and have no trees to block, but thanks for the ideas anyways, it was great hearing from you all. I love this site!!!

the clam unfold tents can be staked down fairly easily.
before setting up your tent grab two throw away rope leeds about 3-5 feet depending on the thickness of the ice and two sticks longer than the hole is wide pop a couple holes tie the rope to the middle of the stick and push them below the ice and your tent is secure.
I have fished in troential winds this way. if you attempt to use a tent of any type in 20-30 mile an hour winds you can kiss your tent by-by the minute you step out of the tent.
dont worie about the ice freezing around the rope, you are just going to cut the rope when you leave any way. there for it would be a benifit if you use bio digradable rope like heavy bailing twin or cotton cloths line.
