Off to the midwest!

Leaving tonight for a midwest pheasant hunt. I'm excited to give the area a try. I've heard the numbers are down this year, but I'm sure "down" to them, is still pretty good when compared to around here. I'll post some pics when I get back.

Well the trip was a fun one. Unfortunately they had a very hard freeze in June that killed off most of this years young birds, combine that with a snowier than normal winter, and you have a recipe for a lot fewer birds. Almost all the birds we got were mature birds. I've got a couple with 23" tails! Those will get mounted. It was a nice area to get to know a little. Hopefully the birds can make a comeback. Here is a pick of one of my days of hunting.
