There's ice, there's ice, there's ice!

I pulled into work today and found three mud puddles frozen over. You really didn't think I meant lakes/ponds did you? Can you tell I'm anxious to be out on the hard water? I guess my attention should be on opening day!

[cool] The smaller ponds are froze over up here in central Minn !!! Its suppose to get warm during the day , but it might just freeze good at night so it won't hurt it !!! At this rate , we should be on the smaller lakes by the first weekend in Dec , or unless we get a heat wave !!!

Haven't seen anything completely frozen over here as far as the small lakes go. But I have seen some half-decent slats of ice on them! Makes me want to get a blow-up boat and go out on the ice when it's 1 inch thick. I can't wait! Steve got me addicted last year!

that's why you are susposed to catch build raise and invent 90% of your fishing gear [shocked]

Realy! how much can a tin of wax worms a spool of 2 pound test line a wire hook and a metal pipe cost? you dont even need the metal pipe if you move in on an unocupied recently abandoned by another angler [sly][sly][sly]

LOL, I know what you mean, it just dont work that way, even if that is all a man needs to catch a fish, he will never be happy with a bobbin to wind his line around unless it has bells and wistles and can sing dixi [laugh]

On the grand mesa here in colorado at 11,000 ft. I'm pretty sure island lake is safe, but I'm willing to wait another week just to be 100% safe.

[cool]We've got a lake here in Utah up in the mountains at 8000 ft. called Hunington that is frozen over (but I don't know how many inches of ice it has) and supposedly somebody was fishing on it last Saturday. This lake has Tiger Trout in it (combo of brookie and brown for those that don't know).

Problem is, Hunington is 2.5 hrs from my house, and I have a wedding I have to go to this weekend.

There should be an ice report on the Utah board by this Sunday if any of you want to check it out.

I was out huntin today, and as I stood there starin at the deer tracks it started snowin, the more I pondered the more it snowed, and before ya knew it there was an inch of new snow on the ground, However the snow stoped emediatly after I stoped pondering and scratching my head [angelic]
