How far is it to Scofield?
#1
I've never fished Scofield before. How far is it from SLC? Is it just your typical rainbow, cutthroat lake or is there something special in it to fish. Also, when does Strawberry usually ice over?

I live in Pleasant Grove (about 30 minutes south of SLC), and it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes or so to get to Scofield. So, i'm guessing about 2 hours for you. That's just a guess. We catch mostly Rainbows.

Scolfield should ice this week if it didn't already last night (I doubt it because of the wind) Hopefully it will be ready to fish by saturday. Strawberry usually ices around Christmas give or take a week.

I'd plan on a 2 hour trip. Sometimes it's less but you never know how traffic can be. DWR says it's about half froze right now depending on the time of the day.
Once Schofield freezes, Strawberry in only about a week or two behind.
