Well i was at sportsmans saturday but i went to go see about a shotgun.I told myself i wouldnt go into the fishing department because i would probably spend too much money there! So i went through the middle isle and i saw the augers.I had to go and see them.I couldnt resist i had to get one ![sly] So i got me a mako 2hp with an 8" blade.Cant wait to use it though. It probably wont be till the 24th when i go fishing with pikeman that i will use it.Cant wait![cool]

Congratulations on your new auger. I love using one myself. One thing to remember though, is to use a fuel stabilizer additive in the fuel. Without it the auger may not start up next year. I pour some in the can of mixed gas I use to fill the auger with, so it always has some in it.

congrats ocean
i have the same auger as you, i've had mine for 2 years and i love it.
i always drain the gas out at the end of the season and then start it and run it out of gas. then it starts the next season.

You are really spoiling yourself . I started ice fishing 10 years ago with a hand auger with many days punching holes in 2' ice and just this year I bought a Mako 8" power auger . My new auger been great , about 40 holes so far . Let see I put about 10 in the ice today .
