LOWER Provo 12/11/04 (Report)
#1
Well, I had to get out of the house and do some fishing, I didn't care where or how. So, I returned to some old stomping grounds. When in college I used to fish the Provo River between "Exchange Park" (Just to the west of the hospital) clear up through the BYU motion picture studios.

There isn't a lot of fish through there, and they don't run very large, but on a 7 1/2' 3 wgt fly-rod, even the small fries feel big.

I fished between 2-4 p.m. using a double nymph setup. I had a size 12 grey Hare's Ear with a size 16 pheasant tail dropper. I landed 2 browns both on the Hare's Ear. One went around 8 inches, and the other around 13. That section can be suprizing, there are some holes through there that can easily go 4' deep. Find them holes, you'll find the fish.

Happy fishing!
