#1
Thinking about going up to either of these places tomorrow. Anyone know the ice conditions and fishing report at these places?

Flaming gorge is a no go for hardwater unless you go way up into Wyoming. Lost dog and firehole are the only places I've herd reports of ice fishing and even then I've herd that a couple of people fell through the ice. Matt Warner on the other hand is supposed to be hard and fishing great. I know there was no problem accessing the lake last weekend, but I don't know if it is getting any snow out of these storms. Access to matt warner can be a bear if there is much snow at all. If you can't get into matt warner there is always pelican lake out that direction and it is fishing great right now.

We decided to go to Matt Warner, Roads were snowy but no problem for a 4 wheel drive truck. Fishing was awesome. Helps to have a fishfinder to know when to pick up your line off the bottom. Got bites almost everytime down. Also bring an ice tent, its cold up there. Kept 5 fish between the two of us, and put back a lot more. Had one "fat fish on" but got off at the hole. Using chartreuse powerbait and some other brand of bait that smeels like black licorice.
