Holey Tomato it was cold
#1
Okay, so I was set. All my gear was ready and rigged. The vex was charged and the auger sharpened. I ventured onto the ice of Maple Bay (Burt LAke) but did not take my portable. I knew it was cold that morning, but as I headed out onto the lake, my jacket thermometer read 22 below.

Ah heck! I was dressed for it and proceeded out. After drilling 4-5 holes I rigged my jigging pole and sent the blue down attached at the dorsal. No more then a foot down in 20 feet of water) I got a hit that reverberated my pole and stung my fingers- but nothing to show for it. Ah well I thought, It was a good way to start.

Over the next hour and a half not one bite and nothing on the vex.
I love this sport.!!!
