This was along MN Highway 10 on Dec 31, 2004. Luckily no one was hurt.

Well this wasnt what I expected to see. This is more of a tin shed. But thanks for the humor [Wink]

What I was expecting to see was something about ice shanties having reflectors for snowmobiles and quads.[Wink]

I have seen some crazy stuff out on the lake in my years. I have heard horror stories about people drinking and driving their orvs and crashing in to all kinds of stuff. I have heard about people who were just enjoying racing accorss the open lake during white outs and run in to houses.

I even had a frend who is no longer with us who drove his snow machein right down in to a pike hole from a shantie that had just been moved that day.

As humorus as this photo is I still get the willies when I think about run ins. That is one of the reasons I dont like a shantie. the other is, I am a bit clostiphobic. that why I have to get out of the house on to the lake[Wink]

That it Dag nab it, I already got cabin feaver [pirate] come on ice..!..!..!..[cool]

Believe it or not, the woman driving this vehicle works for my sister in-law at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes, MN. She was on her way to work New Years eve, reached for her purse and hit the house/truck. The truck was traveling 35MPH, and the woman was cruising at around 70+.

These pics were taken by another guy on site. He way on his was to his cabin in Perham, saw the accident, then stopped to help.

I saw a story with a picture of the car and trailer from behind. I'm even more impressed now!

The story I heard was that she was putting lipstick on at the time. Sheesh.

I bet she is happy you didnt share her name [laugh]
its good to know she nor any one else was hurt.

at 70 had the man in the pickup not had a house trailer both he and her would be in traction, if he was lucky.

What express way were they moving on?

with out a doubt moving at that speed 1-2 seconds is all the differance in the world between life and death.

yep this internet thing dose make this world a small place after all.

when did this happen?
