a really hot tip on pike and carp..

just got off the phone with a buddy of mine down south.. he said that the elusive 2x4 pike and the stucco carp are running big time in the Santa Clara river..

better get there and load up on some before the DRW colse it down to fishing..lol ..

man thats alot of water they got..

we need the water bad but to bad about the houses that have been lost!!!

Just to remind you this valley used to be a marsh. Look at these pictures and you'll understand how flat this valley is.

You don't feel bad? I don't know if you have been to St. George very much, but these neighborhoods aren't really built in the flood plain. I lived right by the 2 neighborhoods that were hit most. Over 10 homes were destroyed in my old ward alone. I have some pack animals right down by the Santa Clara, and when the water is normal, it is quite the walk to get from these neighborhoods down to the river in most spots. This just goes to show just how much water we actually received down here. The flow of the Virgin was running at 25,000 -30,000 cubic feet per second for a while, where its normal flow is about 25 cfs. That is 1,000 times the normal flow. No one has ever seen these river so high, and these homes were well out of the floodplain. It was just an incredibly large storm.
