true, in our area waters down to 25-30 feet the cams work well. what we found was the the deeper we went the shorter our range of vision. when we got to 40 feet we could only see about 2-3 feet from the cam even with the lights on.

they have limitations in that respect, you could be setting 5 feet away from the biggest trout hole you ever saw and you would never know it.

the kids absolutly love it! they get to see the fish on the tv screen and they have cherie when they see the fish bite on a jig.

I dont own one my self, but do hope to ad one to my list of toys. there is nothing like seeing a big fish come though under your feet.

as for the guys fishing to deep, I think not, there are a number of fish that are target only at depts of 80 to 120 feet deep. how they can see the bait is beond me. I think at that depts it is more of a smell and taist thing. two deep fish that come to mind are walleye I have caught in depts of 40 feet and lake trout at 120 feet.

yeah watching panfish hovering around your hook, waiting to bite the juicy wax worm on your line is exciting for me. Not just the kids.lol no your right the kids love it it gives ice fishing a new perspective to them and gives me about a hour longer to be on the ice. lol

I wished I had a kid to take fishing with me,,,

I can only emagine how great it would be to have that special bond with a boy or girl to spend our quality time sharing peace and harmony upon the waters 2 hours every week. (well at least a fishing related activity)

a bond like that can only last a life time and a half[cool]
