1/15 - Just another Pelican report.
#1
A Buddy and I finally made it to Pelican for my first ice fishing trip in over a year. Not really an ice fisherman, he is, but Pelican is worth it even with the long trip.
Anyway, caught about 30 ea. between 9 am and 1 pm off the east shore in a little less than 8 ft. of water. Looked like about 6 in. of ice and temps ranged from about low 20s to about freezing, as a guess. Used ice flys and wax worms. No bass, too shallow, lure? Next time, would like to catch some bass, any suggestions?

Sonuds like a great day to be on the water, i dont have any tips for the bass on that water though. Is blue gill and largies all that are in this water? How is sparky doing as a icefishing dog v. a bird dog?

fish -4,
Sparky gets a little bored but happy to be out. Gets in the way some times and makes a pest of himself but I wouldn't have it any other way!!!
