finley made the trip to fish lake.. looks like the whole lake is iced up now!! we fished the pelican point area all day.. small and medium splake were on tap all day.. i cought the only mac of the day right off the bat in the morning.. but it was just a pup about 13" was all..
rainbow and splake was in there all day.. we went in to shalow water in the afternoon to get some perch..it was hard to get the perch tho to many little splake in there..we would catch 2 tiny splake to evey one perch.. and the perch are even saller than they were last year..
all together we cought well over 100 fish for the two of us.. nothing over 16" with most being splake..
did not seem to matter much what we used as long as it was tipped with perch or chub meat we cought fish on it..
did have better luck with the perch tipping the jig with waxworm tho..
dude on fish?

Thanks for the report, FF. How much ice? Did you try/look at Twin Creeks or the south end where the ice is reportedly thicker? Lots of snow on top? Anyone on the east side by the lava flows?

Hey Ron good report. Maybe sooner than later we should hit the old honey hole and tap into a few of those good splakers.

hey MrLipripper.. twin Creek area did not have safe ice at that time!! might be there now but i could see open water out about 20 yards and the ice around the area looked thin.. the east side look from where i was good safe ice we did not go any where than to the point and only out about 50 yards out.. ice was around 8" thick.. there is no snow or very little snow on the ice so walking is great but very slick... did not see a snowmobile on the ice at all but there was alot running around the shours.. so there might be a restriction on the lodge snowmobiles on going out on the ice right now.. i would take my snowmobile out and not worry to much about it..
