Fished pelican on mlk day and the fishing was slow but good. I met up with fishing waters and my friend dirk and his brother chris. I brought my wife along as well and my brother joined us later. Anyway, the bite was really slow and sparodic, and we had to move around a lot, but I did manage to catch 2 16" largemouth bass and about 20 or so gills. My wife pretty much spanked us all on bluegill. She was only there until about 1:00 but definitely had us beat on catching. The bite finally got hot for about 30 or 40 minutes just after the sun went down and then it was over. I am posting pics from my last trip on thursday as well when the bite was awsome. I caught 50 or 60 gills on that trip and here are the pics from both trips,

[cool]Wow! What a couple of successful trips! What did you catch them on some TubeDude Specials (i.e. baitbugs), or something else? I have that same ice rod in that pic with you and the Largie. Your the first person I've seen with that one. I like the action of it. Nice and stiff enough so you can really set the hook on the bigger fish, but not too stiff that you don't feel any of the fight!

those are some nice lookign fish. good table of gills i might add. looks like a over night trip to pelican might be instore for me and some friends. what could be better than fishing and camping at the same time?

all the fish were caught on my own creations. Similar to tube dudes, but a little different. They were caught on chartreuse boddies with either a flame red head or hot pink pearleascent heads,
