I'm taking the kids and a buddy up to Scofield for the afternoon today. I've only fished the South side and only very early in the season. Does anyone have any pointers based on recent experience? How deep are the fish? Where is the best place to go?

the best pointer i can give you is get there early in the morning.. the bite there is a early bite and tapers off in the afternoon..
if you have minnows try a green whatta cricket or paddle bug tiped with minnow.. if not try a ratfinky tipped with mealworms waxworms or crawlers..
the east side is the best side for takeing small kidds..it's easy for them to get on and off the ice and close to parking..
try and find water around 10" deep or deeper..
and the most inportant thing stay warm be safe and have fun!!
dude on fish?
