Fremont Ice Fishing Derby

Anyone here ever fished Fremont by Pindale Wyoming? They have a big derby coming up in March and we are looking at going over. Last years winner was 19.5lb Lake Trout. Looking for any tips from anyone since I have never fished there before.

I fished the first day of the derby last year. Woke up to a true Wyoming blizzard! We threw everything we had at them and only had a couple of bumps. We fished with many different kinds of jigs, spoons, etc. all tipped with sucker meat or bullheads. No fish. I think the guy fishing next to us was a winner though because we watched him pull a very nice fish through the ice. Fun trip, but kind of a waste of money. Good luck if you go!

Last years big fish was 17.8 lbs and 2nd was 17.4 lbs. This years derby is next weekend March 5-6. $1000.00 for big fish each day and $100.00 for hourly big fish. Lots of door prizes including a ice auger.
