] Out here on the West Coast we use a lot of plastic swimbaits and catch everything with them, the best and most popular are Fishtraps and Big Hammers, they beat the stuff Berkly sells hands down.
There are also tips on how to use on both sites and there are a number of places that will mailorder them out to you if you can't find them locally.
