Buzzbait tip needed.

Ok guys, I am in need of some advice from some of our tech'ies.

Buzzbaits. I know that you can slow them down by adding cup to the blades of the prop, but I swear that I read in a magazine, or saw on a tv show years ago that you could do something to the rivet looking thing on the back of the prop that will add noise and also slow down the bait.

Anyone know what it was?

I am thinking it was old Hank parker that was talking about it.

Anyways, I am not a topwater guy, but I figure since I have a few buzzers in my arsenal, I might as well trick out one or two of them just in case tomegun gets on a topwater bite this summer and I need to pull one out and show him how its done.

Plus I am going to mead to fish largemouth this spring and would like to have some of that stuff ready to roll in case they are smacking them down there.

Any other tips or tricks for slowing down a buzzbait?

I think it may have had to do with adding something or maybe bending the arm that holds the prop so that the turning prop blades would tick the head of the spinnerbait or the other arm of the wire. It makes noise as well as slowing it down. Nowadays, some buzzbaits are made with a builtin noisemaker. Sorta like clothespinning a playing card in your bicycle spokes as a kid.

A couple of chunks of porkrind will help float a buzzbait more and slow it down - make sure you have a trailer hook in there though & If I wanted to go really slow and still get noise and water disturbance I used to use a frog colored or all black Arborgast Jitterbug. That thing will walk along really slow. The bass will wake you up when they hit it []

Where do you live? Think about it. With the exception of Utah Lake, da waters around are not suitable to "Southern Style" a bassin'.

Topwater and poppers or plugs, work cause the water is clear and the fishfaces will came a running from the depths. Maybe the uneducated wet behind the ears, blind in one eye and can't see out the other fish you catch, or those that just come off their mama's teet will hit a stupidass buzzbait.

HERE'S YOUR DAMN TIP: don't waste your time on buzzbaits and stop watching so much tv(they are both bad for your eyes).

Mead, Powell, Da Gorge, Jordanelle , and other bodies of water thats deeper than 3 feet ain't good for a buzzin'(silly redneck diary farmin' tv watchin' Predator).

Hey Predator, try pinching the holes down where the wire goes thru the spinner (prop). this will make the prop squeek. if you can get the right bend and angle they will squeek pretty loud.
