Willard Map?
#1
Does anyone know of one of those topo maps for Willard Bay, that shows relative water depths in the lake????? I have them for most of my favorite lakes, but I haven't seen one yet for Willard. [Sad]

Welcome to the site firstly MC .

I have not seen any topo maps with depths on it for Willard. I have seen aerial maps and a map I made to show fishing holes. I can tell you that the average is about 15 ft. Its like a big bath tub, the west side is the deepest I believe and the east side gets shallow far from the bank.

Are you looking for anything specific???

I own a FishN-Map for Willard that gives the depths. You can purchase one at most of the major fishing supply stores or at some of the boat dealers.

UPDATE - I DO NOT OWN A FISH-N-MAP OF WILLARD!

Thanks for the info, you guys! I haven't seen one for Willard down here in Utah County yet but I'll look harder now that I know one is available. I'm not very familiar with Willard Bay yet so anything would be helpful. I've sure learned a lot already from reading what everyone here has shared.

Kent, I've never seen a Fish'N'Map of Willard or Bear Lake and they're not listed in the online Fish'N'Map catalog at https://secure.dimensional.com/fishnmap/catalogframe.html . Fish'N'Map must have discontinued it or something. How long ago did you get that Willard map?

I would also add that most Fish'N'Maps I've seen do not offer the contour interval (amount of elevation per topo line) that would be required to be of much help at such a shallow body of water as Willard. What's the contour interval on the one you have?

Dave, that is a very useful CD of digital topos for Northern Utah, but I'll tell you from experience that they don't show contours under bodies of water. There's an old series of USGS maps that are 1:50,000 scale that would often show contours under bodies of water, but they're out of print and I've never seen one for the Willard area. If there is, it was probably created prior to the existence of Willard Bay (officially completed in 1964).

I stand embarrassed and corrected. I looked at all of my maps, and I do not have a Fish-N-Map for Willard. I guess I need to refer to my maps more often!

Bummer[Sad] I was really hoping you had an out of print Fish'N'Map of Willard so I could take a look at it. Oh well.
