Strawberry 3-12
#1
Kastmaster and I hit the strawberry marina area this morning. Some wind, otherwise a nice day. Not very many people fishing there. Lots of sleds heading out to distant locales however. Ice is 20-36 inches thick with no slush. Edges are fine. Action was fair to middling. We ended well in double digits but had many slow spells. All in slot except one 16 inch bow and one sub slot cutt. (I didn't keep either fish.) All of the fish caught were within 5 ft. of the bottom (very few suspended fish and they didn't bite when seen) . We were in 21-31 ft. of water. Tube jigs and green flasher spoons sweetened with crawler outperformed rat finkies and other lures. The few people we talked to either were skunked or only had one or two. Tight lines.

Thanks for the report. I've been wondering what the ice conditions were like up there. Sounds like I need to make one more trip up there!
