Henrys Fork fishing
#1
My son-in-law and I spent the day last Saturday fishing the Henrys Fork around the Stone Bridge east of Ashton. We had a great time as he caught about 30 fish and I caught only six. He is trying to teach an old lake fisherman how to fish rivers.

Most of the fish were caught on nymphs but the largest ones were taken on dries. Midges and a few Blue winged olives were coming off and I took half of my fish on dry flies. Most of the fish were small - 12 to 14 inches but we did hook into two large fish that took us for a ride and broke us off. We saw only one other fisherman on the water in that area. We heard of a report of people doing very well with Black rubber legs during the week, but we did not find them successful

Thanks for the report. To bad not many of those abundant smaller rainbows found at the base of the Ashton Hill carry over.
