what is the bast know to tie the line to your spool? I have just been using an overhand knot but the problem with it that i see is that it leavs a big bulky knot that will stick out a little bit, i put enough line to covor this very well though.
Is there any know that is easy and better?
Thanks

Now if you are tying the line to line that is one type of knot but for line to spool I tie the over hand knot but I rap the line through the over hand loop 4 to5 times that way it will lay down better.

There might be some better knots to use but I have found the Uni-knot with three wraps is strong and quick. I have used a combination of the uni-knot and a clove hitch in the past but have found the clove hitch takes extra time that I didn't need to spend.

Until last year I never tied the line to the spool. Just wrapped it and started winding the line on. I can't imanage how big the fish would have to be to spool you. Now I use an arbor knot, or just tie an overhand knot.
The reason I started to tie the line is super braids. They can spin on the spool, never had that problem with mono lines.
