well, me and darrel got to I think it was the south marina, closest to smith and edwards.. parked, walked all the way around the marina area and fished the channel that leads into the marina/inlet... found out hte actual inlet part is closed until the end of april.. so we went where the boats were coming in and out..

got a worm in about 10:30ish I think, fished for a little while, a hooked one small catfish after about 12:30.. after that it was quite some time before we even had a nibble.. but darrel ended up hookin a whopping 7 catfish all together, and I got 1. which brings the total upto 8.. all off worms too..

around I think 4 o'clock, some other people came and fished the oppisite side from where we were, and landed 3-4 wipers with in a half hour time span, off a Orange and green jig of some sort..

Seen a crap load of boats out in the middle of the water, I counted like 12 within stone throwing distance of each other.. guess 1 person catched a few walleye's or wipers, and everyone tried the same..

The weather today was really funky.. early this morning it was nice and glassy almost... and sometime around I think 9am the wind and waves came in... an older gentlemen that owned a bass boat told me about the 8am to the time I got there.. he came in from boating cuz of the cold spray and wind...

anyways, the wind didn't really give up until I believe like 2-3pm and after that everything started pickin up fast.. everyone seemed to be catching fish.. except me that is.. but atleast I didn't get skunked like that past 2 times I have been out to willard.

the cats we caught really didn't fight to much.. guess when they get hooked. they just don't care what happens to them.. anyone for thoughts on what is needed for waleye and wipers?

Thanks for posting your report Jurias, did you guys catch any cats over 12 inches? Your best bet for wipers is casting Producer or shad rap lures. For Walleye, try casting a white or chartreuse jig and worm. Good luck. WH2
