Dry Beds
#1
I took my boys down to the dry canal beds near Ririe. We caught a few white fish on small dry flies. Then we found a hole that was being crowded by a lot of people and for good reason, it was full of brown trout. When some of the people left we made our way over to the brown trout hole and caught 4 browns that were between 14 and 16". We saw other people take browns that were much larger than that. It was amazing to see 40 or more browns taken out of little more than a mud puddle. We were using stone flies that had been dug up from rocks. It will not do too much good to go running out there today. I think the last ponds will be dry by Wednesday for sure, but it did make me think about getting out to the dry beds earlier next year.
