Scofield and Yuba questions.
#1
My dad wants to go to either Scofield or Yuba saturday, or both. So I have a few questions.
How much ice is on Scofield, and how is the fishing?
How are the Trout biting on Yuba, where at and what are they biting on?
Thanks in advance.

There's rumblings around that Scofield is losing it's ice cap and has some open water. You may want to call the store up there to get the info from the proverbial horses mouth.

I was just at yuba tonite with fish4fish.We both landed some of those fatty trout.Mine was 17 and his was 16 inches. We both caught them with silver with red dot jakes lures. Those are killer over there. The wind was bad tonight and it was freezing! We tried painted rocks and nothing. One guy there was camping over night and had 1 fish he caught earler in the day.We then proceeded to the dam side and thats where we caught our fish. There was another group there and i saw at least 1 fatty troutski caught.Jakes is the best thing you could use there .

Theekillerbee-- Thanks for the tip. I saw it on Reece Stein yesterday, so I'm sure it has some open water. But I will call that gas station up there to see if it's easily accessable yet. If not I may just have to run up their myself while the folks are somewhere else.

Ocean-- Thanks a lot. Thats exactly what I wanted! Do you think I'd get blown around out there if I took along my pontoon boat? I want to get that toon out somewhere this year. And I think Yuba might be the place for it. I've just never fished there, so I'm not all that sure.

TD is right about the road down the back side of the dam, a ford focus had taken it yesterday, i am good with the hike down the dam though. Yesterday the wind was out of the north i was about 100yds from where the water crosses under the road, which is unfornatullely still out of water.

If the wind was like it was yesterday you probably would get blown around a bit unless you had a way to anchor your self or fished a cove
