Well, Utah Lake continues to impress me with the quality (translated - size) of walleyes. Went out to finally try the bubble since so many of you others seem to be having good luck there (thanks to you all for the good reports!). Spent about 5 hours there on Wednesday afternoon and managed to boat 3 nice 'eyes - two 19 inchers and one 25 incher and saw a dozen or so others caught. Being from Minnesota and North Dakota (where walleye fishing is pretty much the only fishing) .... I was using minnows with a slip sinker about 6 inches above the hook and a floating jig head to keep the minnow of the bottom. I missed a couple others [unsure] but still got plenty for a couple meals. Now I am anxious to get up to DC and see how they stack up!

hey CBR,
Yeah, I remember seeing you! I was in the Yar-Craft boat (one of those good Dakota walleye boats!) out at the end of the bubble. I was using a chartrusse green float about 1/4 inch diameter (available at Sportsmans) ... just slips on your line b4 you tie the hook on. Did you get into any 'eyes??

THE BAYLINER PARKED HIMSELF RIGHT ON TOP OF ME. SO CLOSE I COULD HAVE JUMPED IN HIS BOAT. IT WAS REALLY RUDE AND MADE ME PRETTY UPSET. OH WELL

[cool]Gotta remember that floating jighead thing when using a sinker. THat must be why I got skunked, because my minnow had mund on it when I reeled it in the check it. I didn't even get bites when I had it under a bobber either. I think I used to big of minnows.

[cool]Man, Chris, when I get into a house next year and have a big fat freezer out in the garage, I'll definitely have to take you up on that! That sounds like a great bait spot you have there. Meantime, we'll have to go fishin' again sometime soon.
