easy way to get worms at anytime night or day rain or shine is to go out in your yard and throw out some powered laundry soap next take a hose and spray away spreading out the suds which cuts off the oxygen and brings up the worms then just pick them up put in dirt and go fishing!!!

A lot of my trips seem to be spur-of-the-moment, and in the past I've resorted to digging up worms out of the garden with a shovel. This has always produced very small worms, however.

It will be interesting to see if some bigger crawlers will make an appearance after a good suds soak.

SMALLER WORM ARE BEST IN MOST SITTUATIONS. FOR THEY RESSEBLE THE NATURAL ONES FOUND BY MOST STREAMS AND LAKES HERE. IVE RAN OUT WHILE FISHING AT MANY PLACES AND ALWAYS AM ABLE TO FIND SMALLISH WORMS ON NORTH FACING SLOPES UNDER ROCKS CLOSE TO SHORE. AND THEM WORMS CATCH FISH. THE SOAP THING SOUNDS PRITTY COOL. HAVE TO REMEMBER IT. I DO LOVE BIG CRAWLERS ONLY FOR WALLEYES ON BOTTOM BOUNCERS AND LINDY RIGS.

Man I remeber from when I was a kid, my dad used to take a car battery and jumper cables, get two good lengths of metal rods...steel I think...pound them into the ground in a flower bed or something and then wet the area for a few minutes...hook up the cables to the battery and the rods.......voila them worms come screemin to the surface. no damage then all you do is gather up what you want and go fishn.

really try this it works flat out. the best part is you can leave the rods in the ground and tie your shrubs off to them in winter and they are there for you to use over and over....I reccomend setting up two or three areas at a time.
man I havent done this for a while....gotta go get me a battery and few steel rods from home depot.LOL

If nothing else you can have fun if you can get flies and bugs to land on the rods. Maybe that can also be a way to keep the neighbors cats out of your garden too.[][/#ff4040][/font]

I found this technique by accident but It works like a champ. Talk your wife into putting out a birdfeeder. As the birds eat the seed, some of the seed will fall to the ground. In about a month the ground under the feeder will be full of worms/nightcrawlers. This is especially good because you get different sizes of worms. The seed we use is thistle and the worms love it as well as the birds. Remember to pick an area that gets watered regularly and is out of the full sun.

DID YOU EVER GET TO TRY OUT THE LECROCUTION OF THE WORM REVOLUTION?? I HAVENT HAD TIME TO TRY IT OUT, BUT I AM MOVING INTO A NEW HOUSE IN THE FIRST PART OF MAY, AND I PLAN TO EXPLOIT THE FLOWER BEDS ALREADY IN PLACE....BY THE WAY IF YOU HAVE CABLES AND STUFF LONG ENOUGH, YOU CAN JUST HOOK UP THE CAR BATTERY WITH THE CAR OFF TO A COUPLE RODS AND SEE WHOS HOME. IF YOU RUN THE CAR YOU WILL FIND A WAY TO FRY WORMS FAST, TOO MUCH AMPERAGE AND VOLTAGE COMING OFF AN ALTERNATOR....TRUST ME LEARNED THE HARD WAY. GOOEY MESS.

My uncle (Icefanatic3's dad) did that once before a fishing trip he took us on, but he just used the power from the house (110v a/c). I was amazed at how good it worked. I was too young to notice exactly how it was done, so I have never been able (or tried) to do it myself. I will try the car battery thing and see how that works.
