Strawberry Saturday the 14th

Strawberry was RED HOT!!!!! we had to move around to find active fish, but when we did the action for cuts was fast and furious. We only caught one over 22 inches, but nothing under 18 inches. Total for the day between four rods was about 60 fish. I am still trying to get comfortable with giving secrets but I will say we were using white tube jigs with a 1/4 oz. head retrieved erraticly. We were fish out of a boat in shallow water. Lots of fun

P.S. Half of the fish we caught had chubs hang out of their mouths. I am starting to view chubs in the same category as shad at Willard and Powell. Fish do not grow big without a high protein diet.

Sounds like you guys had a very sweet day on the pond! Congrats, and good luck on your next trip. Did you guys tip your jigs with any type of meat?

No we did not tip. All they wanted was the bait on the move and then they would pound it. I have attached some pictures of our trip. Take note of the one that has the chub coming out of his mouth.

Nice report and great pics! It's nice to see some additional factual evidence that the big cutts are indeed feeding on the prolific chubs. Thanks for sharing information on how you caught them.
