Striper Report on Mead
#1
Fished Las Vegas Wash area on Tuesday, May 31 and got into several surface schools of stripers. Just followed the birds. Nothing too dramatic, my partner got 6 or 7 small fish (biggest about 3 lbs) in the boat and quit at 9:00. Shad schools surfaced about 30 minutes after sunrise. Before that we couldn't find any shad in the shallows to net. Most of the other boats were soaking bait. Was some activity off the Special Events beach as we went in - again a bait bite.

Nice report! Glad to hear of action on the lake. I'll be headed out to the lake a couple of days next week, hopefully I'll have something good to report.

I was out Friday, June 3rd in Three Finger Cove and encountered 2 schools of stripers chasing shad in the late afternoon. Saturday morning (6/4) we were out in Gov't Wash and crossed one school which sounded and we never found them again. Spent the rest of the morning around Gypsum Wash and 33 Hole and no action. Very few fish or shad schools on the graph. And a slow bait bite.
