i was out before the area baitstores opened so it was spinners today as my lure of choise . not much action thou . the spillway had a thick blanket of white foam with boat moter oil streaks in it . saw one big smallie hitting topwater bugs and hooked a small largemouth further downstream on a panther . several black crappie lay dead on the river bottom , probably from the lake polution . there was one box turtle feasting on one of the fish carcases and a few creyfish doing the same . zebra mussels were about 3" thick covering the entire stream bed , no wonder the trout are so dang scarse . never spoted another fish while wading from the dam to chapel dam road . no gills suckers pike or carp , nothing , not even a minnow . picked up a new daredevel and a number three mepps out of the water . time to get the boat out or hit other waters .
