Taking my granddaughters fishing
#1
My granddaughters are coming from South Dakota this weekend to spend a week & ol Grampatom is takin' 'em fishin'. I'm thinking Ut. Lake, Rockport or Jordanelle but want to be pretty darn sure that they can catch fish. It would be nice if some of them were bigger than the typical Jordanelle perch. Does anybody have any suggestions? Oh, we'll be in my boat. Many thanks for any suggestions.

UTAH LAKE THIS TIME OF YEAR IS ALMOST A SURE THING PLUS WITH IT BEING A BIGGER LAKE THERE WILL BE LESS WATER SKIERS PER SQ FOOT THEN ROCKPORT OR JORDANELL. THAT IS WAY I DESIDED ON UTAH LAKE THIS WEEKEND. THE MUDDERS WILL ALMOST ALWAYS BITE AT LEAST.

I agree....

May I suggest the Provo boat harbor. Reason being, it has pavilions and shade. It also has the river flowing into it so it's great for white bass and kitties...not to mention you may still pull out an eye or 2 (Walleye that is)

Places to play for the youngens. Very family friendly.

Im sure you know about the harbor so im not gonna get into anymore stuff.

Above all it's very safe.

Want fishing tips on what to use.... good ol' night crawler on the bottom or on a bobber.
Want to get serious (seriously stinky) use small green shrimp. Watch out though.. those big cats will yank the poll right outta your hands.

This has been a public service announcment by me [Wink]

Enjoy my friend.

I prefer to fish with as fresh of bait as possible. With this in mind, I prefer to not leave my shrimp out to get smelly, but rather use it just thawed enough to stick onto a hook. With this said, I have drug the same bag of shrimp around now for about three years! Bottom line -- use it fresh if you have it, and use it less than fresh if that is what you have.

Hey, all of you that responded!

Thanx. I can hardly wait to get the kids out on the water & I'm thinkin' that Utah Lake is gonna be on our agenda. I'll try & get some pics to post if we're successful. Will let you know regardless.
