Nice Trout Pictures
#1
OK, I am writing this for two reasons. First of all, I posted these in a message entitled "Paintrock and Wind River Report" or something to that effect and a lot of you probably said "where is that?" or "why do I care?" Secondly, I tried to put the pictures in the message and "boofed" it. I need practice posting pictures and I am following "Old Coot's" instructions.

These trout were all caught spin cast (Rapalas, spoons and spinners) on the Paint Rock and Wind Rivers in Wyoming on a wonderful trip with my father and my "little" brother that we have been talking about for years and finally "just did it."

Now those are some nice browns. Thanks for sharing. I've never had a chance to fish up that way, but I'd like to take a backpacking trip up to the windrivers one of these days. I think I'd target the Golden Trout....but hooking into some nice pig browns would also be fun.

If you're talking backpacking, you would most certainly be talking higher up than where we fished. We fished the "Indian permit" water below Boysen Reservoir... just above Thermopolis.

If you want a great place to backpack, the Paint Rock (though no goldens) would be ideal. I say that because we had to hike about 2 1/2 miles to even get to the public water! Then it was about a 5 mile hike out! We said "next time we pack in!"
