Over the past week, besides spending time rounding up bait, I've been spending quality (fishin') time with 3 of my grandchildren.
Grandson. Day one was spent with my 3 year old grandson. While his first run to a nearby pond with G-pa that contains Bow's and Bass last week didnt turn up a fishy, "Master Trouble" enjoy given the ducks a rough time. (photos 1 and 2).
Day two with him. After finding he'd rather bust the ducks in the rear with a rock than feed them bread,, and yet in need of his first catch, he, his mother and I slipped the boat out of LBH last evening and I'm proud to report he nailed his first 3 Kitties, all channels. And, we actually managed to get a couple pictures of his first catch. (photos 7 and 8)
Granddaughter. As had happend with the 3y/o G-son I took my 4 y/o G-daughter to the nearby pond also. This is my one grand child that has the patience of a buzzard and I'm happy to report that she caught her first fish, a planter Bow. But
ly she wouldnt stand still with it to have her photo snapped. But G-pa will always remember the event. She also spent time feeding the "duckies" before we left.. (photos 3 and 4)
Grandson. Meet my real tough guy.. 4 y/o Day 3 was spend with my g-son that survived the argument with a falling TV earlier this year. As I had with the other grand kids I chose to take him to the pond also. He spend most of his bread feeding the little dinkers that hang out around the shore rather than spending his bread on the "pesty ducks" and he also caught his first bow. Later he lost a couple more close to shore but G-pa manage to get a picture of him with his first catch.. (photos 5 and 6).
Little hint to new mama's and papa's while fishing with your kiddies.
Remember the #1 rule,, this trip is for the kiddies. I discovered years ago that while fishing with my kids that to keep (yourself) sane and happy while fishing with a child (do not) spend so much time fishing that it gets boring for the child. All these pond trips lasted about 90 minutes each including feeding the ducks or dinkers, and, a visit to M-Donalds was to follow.. (All) came home happy and ready for a much needed nap!
