CP killed his Utah Lake skunk last evening at the first spring by tapping into a whitie. So, all those that have avoided fishing near him or even on the same water while he's there, need not fear anylonger. [laugh]

Btw, Water temp in front of the spring 65, else where 62. We arrived to glassy water at 5:10 but the W changed that very quickly. Nothing boated before we pulled out.

[cool]SHEESH, it's about time, CP!!!![Tongue] I'm glad to know that it's now safe to fish around you again, Gary. Man, it stunk so bad around you like skunk that I was afraid you were gonna mess up my mojo too!

Glad you got a whitie. Just one, or did you get anymore? Did you get any of the familiar "thump, thump" of a walleye hit? Any kitties? Just wondering. It's good to hear that the water temps are dropping there down into the comfortable range for the 'eyes. Shouldn't be much longer...

[#505000]When I hit the water around 3:30pm the water was glass and the area was more or less deserted other than one PWC which was well away from the springs. I powered on over that way and tossed in a hunk of carp meat, then began tossing the "Punisher Special" (a derivative of the Tubedude special).[/#505000]

[#505000]On the second cast of the Punisher Special I got a hit and pulled in a decent sized whitie. I got a few more feeble hits then as I was about to pull the plastic out of the water to recast (it was a foot under ready to be re-cast) I got an awesome hit, but not expecting a fish to hit the plastic 18 inches from the pole tip I just sort of sat there on my toon with a dumb look on my face (the other dumb look not the one I walk around with most of the time).[/#505000]

[#505000]Having gone from being a bait purist to using "other means" of catching fish a few months ago I have yet to distinguish between the feel of a walleye-whitebass-catfish-trout hit. Although I have caught at least one of each species using plastics now. [/#505000]

[#505000]Around 4:30-5:00 a rather brisk wind kicked up and I found myself bobbing like a float among the rollers and whitecaps. I can honestly say that is some of the roughest water I have fished. Around 7:00 I decided to call it a trip and made my way back to harbor with my white bass. [/#505000]

[#505000]I cooked him up with a little butter, garlic, and oregano and he was mighty tasty!![/#505000]
