[black] "We will be downrigging and jigging on the DEVIL BOAT at Fish Lake next week. We have always done well there trolling for Rainbows, but want to target something a little bigger this trip. Any tips for Macs, Splake, or Browns?
Specific information on Lures, Color, Location, Time of day, etc are appreciated. I will post our detailed report when we get back. Thanks for your input." [/black]

[cool][#0000ff]Ahoy, Cap'n, just in case pikeman doesn't check in on the board in the next day or so, here is a link to [#000000]pikeman [/#000000]. [#0000ff]I have only fished Fish Lake a couple of times, and that was a long time ago. Sorry I can't be much help. The best I can do is suggest as most will, and that is to put away the trolling gear and jig deeper for the macks and larger splake. Big jigs or spoons with a chunk of sucker, chub or perch meat will usually get the job done. White and silver are good starters, but keep some hot colors in your box also.[/#0000ff]

He probably wont answer you as pikeman try Da_bomb. He has been using bennys ID. Anyway here are the tactics i used to use at fishlake when i owned a boat. I would drift around the dropoffs were it goes from 25ft straight to 75ft and jig spoons there.Perch colors and red and white worked really good for me.I would let them go as close to the bottom then jig them up fast a few feet and then just let them sink for a 3 seconds and thats when i would always get hit and hard.I would do this all the way up in case there were some fish suspended.Sometimes if i had my limit i would just jig straight up and watch as the bows or splakes chase the spoons about 20ft from the surface.I would mostly jig in the afternoon .I would troll early morning with spoons or spinners.I would do this at twin creeks and across the lake straight from the lodge. Also there used to be an eagle nest i dont know if its still there that was a good area too.Hope this helps you out in case pikeman or fuzzy dont answer you before you go .Good luck.

Captain Bob,

FISH LAKE REPORT!!!!!!!
The lake has turned over. That means that the Splake can be found anywhere. Last time we were there my 9 year old caught the New Catch and Release State Record. He caught it fishing the Moss Line. It was a big 18 incher. The Mack are on the spawn on the rock slides. Pretty tough fishing for Big Mack while in the spawn. You should be able to catch pups 50 to 70 feet deep. Use a jig tipped with Sucker meat or Perch. Pretty tough time to fish Fish Lake for Mack. Another month from now the Mack will be on the feed. You can catch them anywhere fron surface to 80 feet deep. An extra tip. Forsyth has lots of catchable Tiger Trout. Cach them on top in front of the springs. Also we are still catching 8 inch Perch at Mill Meadows on the North end. January first I will be moving to Heber City. Look out Strawberry, Jordanelle, Deer Creek, Starvation, and Echo, The Pikeman's going fishing. I will also still be doing my custom Elk Jerky. I have been making Jerky for over 30 years. It totally ROCKS! P.M. me for details. Fish On Pikeman.
