Last year I bought 1000 from a website online (can't remember now which one), but I wasn't impressed with the size. Who has the biggest/best mealies out there to buy in bulk?
Thanks,

I definetly prefer mealies to wax worms. I have never bought them online, but I really like the ones I get a sportsmans. You can get very large ones, or the small ones. I like the large ones just because I cut em in half and there is a big piece of exposed mealie flesh that drives the fish crazy.
Personally the only place that wax worms produce consistantly for me is at Causey for the trout and Kokes.
Anybody else Koke fish Causey through the ice?

Wax worms seem to give off more scent but meal worms stay on the hook a lot better. I use one of each on a booger sometimes.

Try any of these. Don't forget to add the appropriate prefix and suffix to each of these.
Superwormfarm
exoticnutrition
flukerfarms
kadazzle
thewormman
nyworms
these are just a few that are out there. I omitted the www and the .com for the purpose of not posting a direct link.[cool]

[#505000]I would recommend finding a small supply of big ones then growing your own. It's easy and cheap! I would be happy to find you the link on the post I posted a few months back on how to do it. [/#505000]

[#505000]Here is a link I ran across for growing all sorts of potential bait/reptile food (crickets, maggots, earthworms, grasshoppers ect...). I would play with the information this guy gives as his mealworm instructions are way more complicated than they need to be. I would guess his other instructions are likely a little over engineered too.[/#505000]

Hey Ashley, here is a note I found on another web site. I am assuming they are the same ones you are buying. If not, oh well.
Rainbow Mealworms P.O. Box 4907,126 E. Spruce St., Compton, CA 90220. To order by phone: 1-800-7779676. 2000 mealworms will cost $9.75 plus shipping. (Smaller amounts are available.) Rainbow guarantees quality condition on receipt. Never order Giant or Jumbo size- they do not keep or reproduce well.
Hope this helps.
By the way Ashley, how is the new baby???

If you use tube baits or twin tails then the large mealworms are the best. I buy mine by calling rainbow mealworms. They also have a web site. Only order the Giant meal worms the other ones are too small. I order them in large numbers. They make great early christmas presents for my fishing friends.
Thanks

I use Rainbow Mealworms. I only order the Giant ones or the Red Giants. They work great on paddle bugs. Another tip is the fish don't bite meal worms because they look good. They like the scent. Pull their heads off when you put them on the hook. You will see a cloud of meal worm oil come off when you put them in the water.

[cool]Hey Bee, those mealies really lasted you through TWO ice seasons? Wow, if true, for only $10, I'd probably better get on the horn and order some of them. I usually use waxies, but last year I used mealies a few times when they were out of waxies and did pretty well with them after cutting the heads off and putting them on the jig.
